About us

Rural Training Centre, Karaikudi, Tamilnadu, India is sponsored by three banks viz. NABARD (National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development), Indian Bank, and Indian Overseas Bank and functioning since 9th July 2005. It has been registered as a society under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act, 1975 on 3rd December 2007.

OBJECTIVES OF THE CENTRE


  • To train the youth and impart knowledge and skills required for taking up self-employment ventures in rural areas.
  • To train the youth to develop an attitude for working in rural development projects and assist them in setting up ventures successfully.
  • To conduct various training programs independently or in collaboration with other organizations connected with rural technology and entrepreneurship development.
  • Training of farmers on latest technology and developments happening in agriculture.
  • To provide counselling and consultancy guidelines and support youth in self-employment and rural development.
  • To accelerate agriculture and rural development through application of science and technology to reduce costs and improve productivity.
  • To undertake programs ensuring increased income levels and expanded employment opportunities for rural youth, involving trainees in planning, implementation, and maintenance of activities.
  • To continuously follow up with trainees regarding improvement/settlement, counseling for bank facilities, etc.

VISION


  • To emerge and sustain as a “Home of Learning” and “Human Resources Hub” for empowering the manpower especially in rural areas and for achieving Inclusive Development.

MISSION


  • As a rural livelihood mission & National Training Architecture, to impart vocational & technical know-hows & do-hows to various segments such as rural youth, women, entrepreneurs especially for weaker & vulnerable sections of the society for their self development & self employment in particular and for achieving inclusive development.
  • To take on other supporting activities such as handholding, consultancy, counseling, field research etc. for skilling and re-skilling trainee beneficiaries for their sustainable social and economic development.
